Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is situated between Russia and China and has territory of 2,727,300 km² what makes it greater than Western Europe. Kazakhstan declared itself an independent country on December 16, 1991. Kazakhstan capital is Astana and its biggest city is called Almaty.
Kazakhstan is the most economically developed of the former Soviet Central Asian republics. Kazakhstan's has good economic forecast because of its big energy and mineral resources. Foreign investors prefer to invest Kazakhstan than elsewhere in Central Asia because of Kazakhstan's oil resources and investment policy. After Russia, Kazakhstan has the largest oil and gas reserves of the Caspian Sea states. The Kazakhstan banking system continues to be one of the strongest among the countries of the former Soviet Union. Total banking assets hover around 10% of GDP. Kazakhstan has 35 banks and 50 asset management companies which invest mostly into local equities and bonds as well as real estate. There are almost no foreign investment possibilities beside of foreign currency and we see a huge demand for the western investment companies with a flexible investment approach, which can be used for investment portfolio diversification.
